It felt good to step out into the backyard this morning and stretch my toes in the cool, damp grass while enjoying a mug of piping hot coffee. The contrasting sensations did an excellent job of melting away the final remnants of sleepy fog that lingered in my brain.
As my eyes came into focus, a tiny object that was sitting on the ground at the far end of the patio caught my attention… It was a dried pod of seeds that had fallen from a nearby tree. There was something about the curving lines and shadows that tugged unexpectedly at my heart. It reminded me of the silly way that my dog, Toby, likes to put his butt up in the air and bury his head in a pillow or blanket when he wants to make me smile.
It’s funny how little things like this can really brighten your day.
